Recently I came access a blog post from a netizen (I lost the link, I’ll update the post if I find it again), where they discussed the self reflection of their AI reliance on all their projects and their displeasure of basically being an error copy paster to the llm’s to fix the issues. Their solution on the AI reliance instead of just being apart of the build fast, ship fast, debug later, was to utilize AI to refamiliarise themselves with the basics.
This was relatable as I’ve had my own reliance on AI as the tool to create instead of a tool to assist, so I’ve be inspired by them to do the same thing and get back to the basics using AI as the means to assist in that journey, alongside traditional resources like leetcode.
I’ll be keeping public record of the relearning process via this github repo, I think this is great for the modern day environment, while yes AI’s can, have and will continue to help in the creation of great products, that shouldn’t take away or be an excuse to not familiarise oneself with the basics of any given field not just programming.
